Stefano Belotti

Born on June 30, 1985, in Brescia, Italy, Stefano Belotti is an Italian bass trombonist based in the Franciacorta region, an area renowned for its cultural heritage and artistic vitality.

He began his formal musical studies in 2004 under the guidance of Guido Delmonte at the Luca Marenzio Conservatoryin Brescia, graduating with top honors in 2009. Alongside his academic training, Belotti refined his artistic profile through masterclasses with distinguished representatives of both the American and French trombone traditions. Encounters with Diego Gatti, Laurent Fouqueray, Giuseppe Grandi, and Stefan Schulz proved particularly influential, shaping his distinctive approach to the bass trombone—an instrument that fully reflects his musical identity.

In 2007, driven by a strong commitment to chamber music and artistic entrepreneurship, he co-founded the Mascoulisse Quartet. With the ensemble, he has performed in more than 550 concerts across Italy, Europe, the United States, China, and Oman. Appearances include prestigious venues such as Teatro Ristori (Verona), Società del Quartetto and the Duomo (Milan), Y-Theater (Hong Kong), Teatro Dom Pedro (Macao), Royal Opera House (Muscat), Koufonisia Classical Festival (Greece), and Horsens Classical Music Festival (Denmark), as well as numerous radio and television broadcasts.

Belotti has received awards in several international competitions and is regularly invited to give masterclasses at conservatories and cultural institutions. As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras including I Solisti Veneti under the direction of Claudio Scimone.

Deeply engaged with contemporary repertoire, he has collaborated with composers such as Paolo Ugoletti and Nicola Morello, premiering works including Festive Concert for Bass Trombone and String Orchestra and Fantasia Op. 62. His orchestral experience includes collaborations with leading ensembles such as the Filarmonica della Scala, Orchestra del Gran Teatro La Fenice (Venice), Haydn Orchestra (Bolzano and Trento), and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, among others.

Belotti is currently Low Brass Instructor at the Stradivari Institute in Cremona and at the Masterbrass Academy, where he also serves as President. In 2011, he was awarded the Certificate of Public Merit in recognition of his artistic and cultural contributions.

He is an official Adams Brass Artist.
